The Regency Security annual charity football tournament, played earlier in the year at Norwich City FC, raised over £2,700, bringing the grand total raised so far to £4,523.

Help for Heroes are Regency Security’s chosen Charity partner. Caroline Brown, Commercial Manager (pictured left) said, “we chose this charity because Help for Heroes is founded on the belief that those who put their lives on the line for us deserve a second chance at life for them and their families. In addition, we have several ex Armed Forces personnel working for us across the UK, so that makes it extra special to give something back.”

The cheque was presented to Carole Groves, Help for Heroes, Eastern Regional Manager last week in front of the Regency Security Stand at Carrow Road.

Help for Heroes provide recovery and support for the Armed Forces community whose lives are affected by their service, no matter when they served.

Everything they do – every penny they raise, every facility they run, every treatment they offer – is done with the express purpose of empowering Veterans. All the courses and activities they offer help the wounded, injured and sick look beyond illness and injury, regain their purpose, reach their potential and have a positive impact on society.

Whether that is winning medals at the Paralympics or providing for their family; these all benefit and inspire our community.

Caroline continued to say in true Regency style, “we are extremely proud to raise money for this great cause and below are real examples of what our fundraising efforts could be spent on.”

  • £5 buys 3 x hours of art therapy to help 11 beneficiaries
  • £10 – pays for a 90-minute indoor climbing session to help with mental and physical wellbeing
  • £50 – pays for a music workshop for 16 Veterans to promote self-expression and learn new skills
  • £100 buys accommodation for a loved one to visit a wounded veteran in hospital or pays for a 5-day residential recovery programme across a range of activities to improve confidence and self-esteem
  • £500 buys a week’s worth of time with a psychological wellbeing practitioner to help beneficiaries self-manage anxiety, depression and stress
  • £1,000 helps for a medical discharged veteran with their first month’s rent and removal costs to get them in safe and suitable accommodation

Regency Security will be on the look out early next year for corporate teams to take part in next year’s tournament.
