Keeping safe this festive season!

By 3 December 2015February 3rd, 2023No Comments

Welcome to the best time of year, the beginning of Christmas parties, new year celebrations and enjoying time out with friends and family. Our door team have put together their list of tips for staying safe this festive season.

Before you go out…

Think about how you’re going to get home. If you go into town in a taxi organise for them to return and collect you later on in the evening, so you can breeze straight out of the club into your own cab. If you’re not that organised, no worries, just make sure you get into a licensed taxi when you leave. The door staff at the venue will be able to point you towards a taxi rank if you don’t know where it is.

While you’re out…

Keep an eye on your belongings. It’s going to be cold, so if you take a coat put it in the cloakroom to make sure it’s safe during your night. If you’ve got a handbag, keep it with you. It probably has your most treasured possessions in it; purse, phone and keys, so look after it.

Got a drink? Don’t leave it unattended as it is at risk of being spiked. It is often presumed this only happens to women, but men are also the victims of these crimes as it makes it easier for people to take their belongings.

As the night draws to a close…

You’re out with your friends, so stay together. There is strength in numbers. Stay as a group and make sure no one is left on their own. If you do decide to walk home, don’t do it alone and keep to lit main roads. If your friends do travel home alone, ask them to send you a text when they get home so you know everyone is tucked up safe and sound!

Have a safe and happy Christmas everyone – Regency Security.
